System on Chip Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced System on Chip (SoC) Lead to join our team. The SoC Lead is a critical role in our company, and the position requires a strong technical background in SoC design, with a focus on leading complex projects from concept to production.

The role includes overseeing the entire chip design process, ensuring the successful integration of diverse components onto a single chip. The successful candidate will progress the architecture, design, verification, test strategy, packaging and physical integration of our next generation SoC solutions. The components for SoC are custom analogue, RF and digital IP including 3rd party vendors, CPU systems and custom accelerators, high-speed IO channels, memory subsystems, and quantum dot arrays.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own the SoC development process, from project launch to validation.

  • Develop a robust methodology for mixed signal SoCs that include quantum arrays, covering all aspects of an SoC design flow from RTL, functional verification and schematic representation to physical verification in 22nm and smaller technology.

  • Demonstrate technical leadership driving projects from start to the finish, with regular design reviews ensuring high quality throughout all phases of design, verification, and integration.

  • Ability to clearly define an execution plan with milestones, and detailed resource estimates.

  • Collaborate with architecture, hardware, software, and quantum teams to generate the project requirements.

  • SoC architecture partitions of the device, selecting components, interfaces, and optimizing performance, and making appropriate and balanced trade-offs.

  • Provide clear inclusive direction for all involved parties

  • Lead a team of designers to quickly overcome project blockages to maintain overall goals.

  • Hands-on approach to resolving issues as they arise throughout the execution cycle.

  • Liaise with foundry partners.

  • Evaluate third party IP and support for test chip design and developing strategies for testing including post silicon.

  • Generate clear and concise documentation, reports, and regular presentations to communicate verification results, status, and recommendations to stakeholders and management.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in SoC, with a minimum of 5 years leading SoC design teams.

  • In depth knowledge of semiconductor device physics, 22nm SOI an advantage.

  • Experience in low power SoC design architectures, system partitions and trade-offs

  • Experience in large scale digital, analogue and RF block design and integrations design challenges.

  • Experience with current EDA tools and solutions covering IC design, verification and packaging technologies.

  • Experience in design evaluation, debug and post silicon.

  • Expertise in large multi-disciplined project planning, methodology development, reporting, and effective communications across multiple design locations.

  • Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.

  • Experience with quantum computing and related technologies is a plus.

  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently, anticipate issues, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

If you are a highly motivated and experienced SoC engineer looking for a challenging and rewarding role, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
